Checked October 26, 2026. Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page. Prices change: re-check before you buy. Dooza Crew is our product and our top pick; we say why, and where the others fit better. Only a few grooming-specific tools have AI today, so this list mixes AI phone answering, one AI-native grooming system, and the best-known grooming software with smart scheduling.
Best AI tools for pet groomers: the short answer
Our top pick for a small grooming business is Dooza Crew: AI employees that answer calls, draft rebooking reminders and chase the admin you cannot do with wet hands, $49 a month for the whole organization, and they ask before they send anything. If you only need a phone line, compare Rosie, Goodcall and Dialzara. If you are open to switching your booking system, Groomify is the one grooming system we found built around AI agents.
What we could not find on groomer AI adoption
We looked for a survey of pet groomers on AI use and found nothing from a trade body or other primary source, so we are not quoting any percentage. What we can say comes from vendor pages, which are claims, not results. Groomify says its software has "8 AI agents handle your calls, fill your calendar, and run your admin." MoeGo describes "MoeGo Smart Schedule™ technology" that will "automatically minimize driving between appointments".
The practical problem is simple: your hands are busy, so the phone goes unanswered. A groomer with a dog on the table cannot pick up. That is why most tools below start with the phone, then move to bookings, reminders and follow-ups.

1. Dooza Crew (our product, top pick): AI employees for the front desk
A small grooming business loses bookings in the gaps: the phone rings while you are mid-clip, the rebooking reminders never get sent, the review requests wait for a quiet week. Crew gives your company AI employees, each with its own computer and browser and its own job. They work around the clock, work with your team in one chat, and pass work to each other. Before one sends an email or clicks Send, Submit or Pay, it asks you to Approve, Edit or Reject.
Example jobs you could give it: you could give one agent the job of answering the phone and taking a message for every new-client or appointment enquiry; another the job of drafting a friendly rebook email to clients whose pet is due again, for you to approve; another the job of filling a fillable PDF or Word client intake or vaccination-record form you upload; another the job of drafting replies to online reviews for you to edit. Crew works in web-based tools you log in to with a browser, and you type passwords and 2FA codes yourself.
- Forms: it fills fillable PDF, Word and Excel files you upload. Scanned PDFs without form fields cannot be filled.
- Phones: Crew agents take phone calls too, included in the plan.
- Price: free for 7 days (card required), then $49 a month for the whole organization (unlimited users and agents), AI usage included with a hard spending cap. At the cap it pauses and tells you.
- Watch for: no grooming software (such as MoeGo or Gingr) is certified or integrated with it, so it does not sync with your booking system; it works only in web tools you log in to. Pricing, deposits and pet-health calls stay with you (it asks before Pay/Submit).

2. Groomify: grooming software built around AI agents
Groomify is the one grooming system we found that leads with AI. Its home page says: "Your AI receptionist answers every call 24/7, books grooming appointments through natural conversation, handles pricing questions, and recovers missed calls automatically." It also lists AI scheduling, CRM, routing, communication, marketing and insights agents.
3. MoeGo: popular grooming software with smart scheduling
MoeGo is grooming software for mobile and salon businesses. We did not find an AI receptionist or AI feature on its pricing or home pages; what it sells is scheduling help: "MoeGo Smart Schedule™ technology automatically minimize driving between appointments so you can groom more pets per day." Growth adds route optimization and an intelligent waitlist.
- Price: on the mobile grooming tab, Basic $49 a month, Growth $99 a month per van and Ultimate $159 a month per van. The page displays each number split from its dollar sign. Enterprise is custom. We did not read the salon prices.
- Free trial: none stated; the page offers "Start now" and "Book a demo".
- Watch for: not labeled AI by the vendor, and no phone answering found. It is here because many groomers already run on it and the phone tools below can sit beside it.
4. Rosie: an AI receptionist for small businesses
Rosie is a general AI answering service, not grooming-specific. Its Professional plan is "24/7 AI answering service that knows your business." It takes messages and sends appointment links by text.
- Price: Professional $49 a month (250 minutes), Scale $149 (1,000 minutes, and it can "Book appointments directly on your calendar"), Growth $299 (2,000 minutes).
- Free trial: 7 days.
- Watch for: direct calendar booking starts on the Scale plan, and it is not tied to grooming software.
5. Goodcall: AI phone answering with a free demo agent
Goodcall builds an AI agent for your business line. Its pricing page says "Start free with a demo agent. Add a number when you're ready."
- Price: Starter $79 a month (100 unique customers a month, then 79¢ each), Growth $129 and Scale $299 a month. It says "We never meter minutes."
- Free trial: a free demo agent; you pay when you connect a number.
- Watch for: billing is per unique caller, and it is not connected to grooming software.
6. Dialzara: the cheapest AI phone plan we found
Dialzara's page says "AI receptionist plans from $29/month", with extra features priced separately.
- Price: Business Lite $29 a month for up to 60 minutes of talk time (overage $0.48 a minute); Business Pro $99 a month for up to 220 minutes (overage $0.45 a minute).
- Free trial: "7-day free trial".
- Watch for: billing is by the minute, and the Lite plan has no warm transfer to your team.
7. Frontdesk: voice, chat and text in one plan
Frontdesk (myaifrontdesk.com) bundles phone answering with web chat, two-way text and a CRM. The page says "Answering phone calls starts at $99/mo on Business-in-a-Box, or $79/mo billed annually", including 200 voice minutes a month.
- Price: $99 a month, or $79 a month billed annually. Extra credits cost $10 for 1,000.
- Free trial: 7 days.
- Watch for: it is a broader front-office suite, not grooming-specific, and usage beyond the included credits is charged.
8. Smith.ai: call answering with real people, AI-first or hybrid
Smith.ai sells "Professional call answering by real people" around the clock.
Gingr: popular software with no AI found
Gingr is software for grooming, daycare and boarding. We found no AI feature on its pricing or home pages. Its Spa plan for groomers shows a monthly price of $109 and an annual-subscription price of $100 a month (the page splits each number from its dollar sign), and offers a demo rather than a trial. It is a reminder that your booking system and your AI tools can be separate things.
Free AI tools and trials for pet groomers
- AI phone line: Goodcall's free demo agent, until you connect a number.
- Trials: Groomify 14 days (no card), Rosie, Dialzara and Frontdesk 7 days each, Dooza Crew 7 days (card required).
- Money-back: Smith.ai's 30-day guarantee.
How to choose an AI tool for your grooming business
- Start with the missed call. Count how many calls you miss in a week while you are grooming. If the answer is more than a few, start with an AI phone line.
- Check your booking system first. If you run MoeGo or Gingr, the phone tools and Dooza Crew do not integrate with them: they take a message or a booking request and you enter it, or an agent works inside a browser tool you log in to.
- Compare the billing unit. Dialzara and Rosie bill by minutes, Goodcall by unique caller, Smith.ai by call; Dooza Crew is a flat monthly price for the whole organization.
- Decide what the AI may promise. Pricing, deposits and whether a pet is healthy enough to groom stay with you. Set the AI to take a message instead of quoting.
- Keep sign-off human. Pick tools that ask before they send an email or take a payment.
- Test on one workflow for a couple of weeks before you route every call through a bot, and listen to the recordings.
