Checked October 26, 2026. Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page. Prices change: re-check before you buy. Dooza Crew is our product and our top pick; we say why, and where the others fit better. Honest note: most software built for dog trainers has little or no AI in it today, so this list mixes AI phone answering and meeting notes with the training-business software trainers already use.

Best AI tools for dog trainers: the short answer

For the phone, Dialzara, Rosie or Goodcall. For booking, packages and billing, BusyPaws, Time To Pet, Gingr or Revelation Pets, which we found to have little AI. For the emails, reminders and admin around your classes, our top pick is Dooza Crew: AI employees that draft follow-ups and take calls, $49 a month for the whole organization, and it asks before it sends anything. For call notes, Fathom has a free plan.

Where AI helps a dog trainer, and where it does not

A trainer's day is mostly hands-on work with dogs and owners, which is exactly what AI cannot do. The parts that eat evenings are different: answering enquiries while you are mid-lesson, sending class reminders and homework, chasing unpaid package balances, and writing follow-up notes after a session. Phone tools catch the call you could not take. Admin agents draft the reminders. Training-business software holds the schedule and payments.

The limit is judgement. Whether a dog is safe in a group class, whether a behaviour is a training problem or a medical one, and what to say to an owner about it are your calls, and for medical questions the owner's vet. Use AI for the paperwork around the work, not the assessment.

What we could not find on adoption

We looked for a survey from a trade association or another primary source on how many dog trainers use AI, and did not find one we could quote exactly. So we give none. What we can show is what the vendors sell and what it costs.

The tools, one by one

1. Dooza Crew (our product, top pick): AI employees for the training business

Crew gives an independent trainer or a small school AI employees for the admin: one for the inbox, one for enquiries, one for chasing payments and paperwork. Each has its own computer and browser, works around the clock, and works with your team in one chat. The agents pass work to each other. Before it sends an email or clicks Send, Submit or Pay, it asks you to Approve, Edit or Reject.

  • Example jobs you could give it: you could give one agent the job of drafting class reminders and homework emails for you to approve; another the job of answering the phone while you are mid-lesson and taking a message; another the job of filling a fillable waiver or intake PDF you upload.
  • Forms: it fills fillable PDF, Word and Excel files you upload. Scanned PDFs without form fields cannot be filled. You type your passwords and 2FA codes yourself.
  • Phones: Crew agents take phone calls too, included in the plan.
  • Price: free for 7 days (card required), then $49 a month for the whole organization (unlimited users and agents), AI usage included with a hard spending cap. At the cap it pauses and tells you.
  • Watch for: no dog training software (BusyPaws, Gingr, Time To Pet, Revelation Pets) is certified or integrated with it, so it does not sync with your booking system; it works only in web tools you log in to. It is not a vet or a behaviourist: animal health and safety decisions stay with you.

Try Dooza Crew free for 7 days.

2. BusyPaws: software for training, boarding and grooming

BusyPaws calls itself "Best-in-class pet care business software." Its AI is a support bot: "We've trained our AI bot, Kiwi the pug, to understand how BusyPaws works".

  • Price: Behave / Stay / Groomed $35 a month for up to 5 employees and one service type (Training, Boarding/Daycare or Grooming); Professional $99 a month with 5 users included, plus $20 a month per additional user; Business $299 a month. Annual plans include two months at no charge. Payment processing on the $35 plan is 3.4% + $0.30.
  • Free trial: 14-day free trial.
  • Watch for: the AI helps BusyPaws support answer your questions; it is not an AI feature for your business.

3. Gingr: software for groomers, trainers and facilities

Gingr's Spa plan is "Designed for groomers and trainers offering appointment-based services." Its Play plan adds training session scheduling alongside daycare.

  • Price: Spa $109 a month billed monthly or $100 a month on annual billing; Play $169 monthly or $142 annual; Stay $179 monthly or $154 annual with Integrated Payments (the page notes $209 monthly without).
  • Free trial: none stated; you request a demo.
  • Watch for: we found no AI feature on its pricing page, and it is priced for businesses with facilities more than for a solo trainer.

4. Time To Pet: scheduling and invoicing

Time To Pet is built for pet care businesses of one person up. We found no AI feature on its pricing or home page.

  • Price: Lite $25 a month or $250 a year; Solo $50 a month or $500 a year; Team $40 a month plus $16 a month per active staff member; Facility $79 a month.
  • Free trial: "Start 14-day Free Trial", "No Credit Card Required".
  • Watch for: it is aimed at sitters, walkers and facilities, so check that class packages fit how you sell.

5. Revelation Pets: booking and payments

Revelation Pets lists training among the businesses it supports, with online booking, reminders and payments. We found no AI feature on its pricing page.

  • Price: Silver $60 a month or $605 a year; Gold $77 a month or $770 a year.
  • Free trial: "No credit card needed to start the free trial." We did not read the trial length.
  • Watch for: larger or multi-location businesses are asked to contact the company.

6. Rosie: AI phone answering

Rosie describes a "24/7 AI answering service that knows your business." It answers, takes messages and books appointments.

  • Price: Professional $49 a month, Scale $149 a month, Growth $299 a month.
  • Free trial: 7-day free trial.
  • Watch for: it is not trainer-specific; it will not know your class dates or your rules for which dogs are accepted unless you tell it.

7. Goodcall: AI phone answering without minute meters

Goodcall lets you "Start free with a demo agent. Add a number when you're ready."

  • Price: Starter $79 a month (100 unique customers a month, then 79 cents each); Growth $129 a month; Scale $299 a month. Goodcall says "We never meter minutes."
  • Watch for: it bills per unique caller, so a busy puppy-class enrolment month can pass the 100.

8. Dialzara: the cheapest AI receptionist here

Dialzara lists "AI receptionist plans from $29/month".

  • Price: Business Lite $29 a month for up to 60 minutes of talk time, then $0.48 a minute; Business Pro $99 a month for 220 minutes.
  • Free trial: 7-day free trial.
  • Watch for: minutes are metered, so long enquiry calls add up.

9. Fathom: free AI notes for video calls

Fathom records video calls with "Instant AI call summaries", useful for online consults and remote coaching sessions.

  • Price: Free forever; Premium $20 a month per user ($16 on the annual rate).
  • Watch for: it covers video calls only, not in-person lessons.

Free AI tools and trials for dog trainers

  • Call notes: Fathom's free forever plan.
  • Phones: Goodcall's free demo agent; 7-day free trials at Rosie and Dialzara.
  • Software trials: BusyPaws 14 days; Time To Pet 14 days, no card.
  • Admin: Dooza Crew, free for 7 days (card required).

Questions to ask before you buy

Whatever you pick, a few questions save money. Does the price count you per user, per caller or per minute, and what happens past the included amount? Goodcall charges per unique caller after 100 on Starter, Dialzara charges per minute after the included time, and BusyPaws adds a per-user fee on Professional. Can you cancel any month? Dialzara says there is no contract; check each vendor's terms. Does it take card payments, and what does processing cost? BusyPaws lists 3.4% + $0.30 on its $35 plan, and Gingr's Stay price depends on Integrated Payments being active.

Then ask what happens to your data. If you switch booking software later, can you export client and dog records? And decide in advance what the AI may say. A phone agent that tells a caller a dog with a bite history can join a group class is a liability; write the rule down and give it only the answers you are happy to stand behind.

How to choose an AI tool for your training business

  1. Start with the job that eats your evenings. Missed calls, reminders, chasing payments or session notes.
  2. Pick your booking software first. Phone and admin tools sit beside it; most do not sync with it.
  3. Do the math per user, per caller or per minute. BusyPaws adds $20 a user on Professional; Goodcall bills per unique caller; Dialzara per minute.
  4. Keep sign-off human. Pick tools that ask before they send, and keep assessments of dogs and safety decisions with you.
  5. Run a short trial on real enquiries. Count calls answered and reminders sent for two weeks.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best AI tool for dog trainers?

For the phone, Dialzara starts at $29 a month, Rosie at $49 and Goodcall at $79. For booking and billing, trainers use training-business software such as BusyPaws (from $35 a month) or Time To Pet (from $25 a month), though we found little AI in them. For the admin around your classes, our top pick is Dooza Crew (our product): AI employees that answer the phone and draft emails and reminders, $49 a month for the whole organization after a 7-day free trial, and they ask before they send anything.

Does dog training software have AI?

Mostly not yet. On the pricing and home pages we read, BusyPaws names an AI support bot for its own customers, and Gingr, Time To Pet and Revelation Pets show no AI feature. Some newer products advertise AI training plans, but we found only directory listings for them, so we do not recommend any here. Check each vendor for newer features.

Can AI answer the phone for a dog training business?

Yes. Dialzara starts at $29 a month, Rosie at $49 and Goodcall at $79, and Dooza Crew agents also take phone calls, included in the $49 plan. They take messages and answer basic questions; deciding whether a dog is a fit for a class, or any behaviour advice, is for you.

Does Dooza Crew work with BusyPaws, Gingr or Time To Pet?

No. No dog training or pet care software, including BusyPaws, Gingr, Time To Pet and Revelation Pets, is certified or integrated with Dooza Crew, so it does not sync with your booking system. It works only in web tools you log in to with a browser, and you type passwords and 2FA codes yourself.

Can AI tell me if a dog is safe to train or has a behaviour problem?

No. Animal health and safety decisions stay with you. Dooza Crew is not a vet or a behaviourist. Before a Dooza Crew agent sends an email or clicks Send, Submit or Pay, it asks you to Approve, Edit or Reject, so nothing about a dog reaches an owner without you.

Is there a free AI tool for dog trainers?

Fathom has a free forever plan for call notes. Goodcall lets you test a free demo agent. Trials: BusyPaws and Time To Pet 14 days, Rosie and Dialzara 7 days, and Dooza Crew 7 days (card required).
