Best AI Tools for Freight Brokers in 2026: 9 Tools With Real Prices

Nine AI tools a small freight brokerage can use in 2026, from carrier sourcing and vetting to quoting, track and trace and TMS, with prices read on each vendor page, who each fits, and one honest limit for each.

Checked October 26, 2026. Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page. Several broker-specific tools publish no price at all; we say so rather than guess. Prices change: re-check before you buy. Dooza Crew is our product and our top pick for small brokerages on a small budget; we say why, and where the others fit better.

Best AI tools for freight brokers: the short answer

Our top pick for a small freight brokerage is Dooza Crew: AI employees that draft carrier replies, chase paperwork and answer the phone, $49 a month for the whole organization, and they ask before they send anything. If you have a bigger floor and a demo budget, FreightScout, Vooma and Parade are built only for brokers. For carrier identity checks, Highway. For load posting and rates, DAT One. For the TMS itself, Alvys. For free call notes, Fathom.

How many freight brokers use AI in 2026

Roughly four in ten, according to the one broker survey we could quote. Truckstop's 2026 broker trends guide describes "The widening technology and freight broker software gap between businesses (41% are deploying AI tools, 48% are not)". That figure comes from the 2026 Freight Brokerage Operations Report by Bloomberg Intelligence and Truckstop, a late-2025 survey of 187 freight brokers, forwarders and 3PL professionals.

Two cautions. Truckstop sells to brokers, and 187 respondents is a small sample. The useful reading is that AI in brokerage is no longer unusual, and the split runs between brokerages that have put it to work and ones that have not. This post is about brokers' work: posting loads, sourcing and vetting carriers, quoting, tracking and the TMS. (If you are on the carrier side, see our AI tools for truck dispatchers.)

The tools, one by one

1. Dooza Crew (our product, top pick): AI employees for the brokerage back office

Most small brokerages are won or lost in the gaps around a load: a carrier email nobody answered for an hour, a rate confirmation that never came back signed, proof of delivery that sits in someone's inbox, a carrier setup packet half-filled. Crew gives your company AI employees, each with its own computer and browser and its own job. They work around the clock, work with your team in one chat, and pass work to each other. Before one sends an email or clicks Send, Submit or Pay, it asks you to Approve, Edit or Reject.

Example jobs you could give it: you could give one agent the job of drafting replies to carrier emails asking about a lane, for you to approve; another the job of emailing carriers for missing paperwork after delivery and listing who still owes you a document; another the job of answering the phone and taking a message when a carrier calls back; another the job of filling a fillable PDF, Word or Excel form you upload, such as a carrier setup packet. Crew works in web-based tools you log in to with a browser, and you type passwords and 2FA codes yourself.

  • Forms: it fills fillable PDF, Word and Excel files you upload. Scanned PDFs without form fields cannot be filled.
  • Phones: Crew agents take phone calls too, included in the plan.
  • Price: free for 7 days (card required), then $49 a month for the whole organization (unlimited users and agents), AI usage included with a hard spending cap. At the cap it pauses and tells you.
  • Watch for: it is not a licensed broker of record or a legal advisor. No TMS, load board or carrier-vetting tool is certified or integrated with it, so it does not sync with your TMS; it works only in web tools you log in to. Carrier vetting, rates and contracts stay with you.

Try Dooza Crew free for 7 days.

2. FreightScout: an AI floor for brokerages, with public pricing

FreightScout is the rare broker AI platform that publishes its price. It calls itself "The AI execution layer for freight brokerages" and says "It calls the carriers, tracks the trucks, builds the loads, and chases the paperwork, on the TMS you already run." You can run it from supervised to autopilot.

3. Vooma: AI workers across quote, build, cover and track

Vooma describes "AI workers that email, call, text and log into systems to get your tedious work done, every time, 24/7." For brokers it covers "quote and build loads, schedule, cover and track."

  • Price: not published. You book a demo.
  • Free trial: none stated.
  • Watch for: demo-only and aimed at brokerages and larger carriers. The results on its home page are the vendor's own, so ask for references from a brokerage your size.

4. Parade: carrier capacity, plus an AI for carrier calls and emails

Parade is built around the carrier side of brokerage. It says capacity management "helps freight brokerages and 3PLs source and reuse carriers, automate bookings, and win more business." Its CoDriver agent "answers inbound calls and emails from carriers, qualifies the fit, captures quotes, and syncs everything into Parade."

  • Price: not published (request a demo).
  • Free trial: none stated.
  • Watch for: it plugs into your TMS, load boards and compliance tools, so it assumes you already run those; and it is demo-only.

5. Highway: carrier identity, checked before and after the load

Vetting is where a brokerage loses real money, and Highway focuses on it. It describes itself as the provider of "Carrier Identity® solutions, helping freight brokers verify identity, authorize participation, and enforce their carrier standard throughout the lifecycle of every load." Its argument is that "Phone numbers change. Insurance expires. Drivers change. Operating authority evolves."

  • Price: not published (Get a Demo).
  • Free trial: none stated.
  • Watch for: its pages describe identity verification and monitoring and never use the word AI, so judge it as a vetting tool. Whom you tender to is still your decision.

6. Trucker Tools: tracking and a smart load board

Trucker Tools covers two broker jobs: knowing where freight is, and finding carriers. Its home page promises you can "know where every load is — in real time, from beginning to end" and describes carrier sourcing "from our network of over 350k unique MCs". Its smart load board lists "automated negotiations, and Book-It-Now".

  • Price: not published (Get a Demo).
  • Free trial: none stated.
  • Watch for: the page does not call this AI, and it is demo-only.

7. DAT One: load posting and truck search, priced publicly

DAT is where many brokers post loads and find trucks. Its broker plans let you "Post your loads and search for carriers." with market rates "Powered by DAT iQ".

  • Price (broker load board plans): DAT One Express "$ 159 /month"; DAT One Select Broker $319/month; DAT One Office Broker $449/month. Broker/carrier combo plans are $339 and $469/month.
  • Free trial: not stated.
  • Watch for: the pricing page never uses the word AI. It is a load board with rate data, not an agent, and you still make the calls.

8. Alvys: a TMS that is adding AI agents

Alvys is a TMS for carriers, brokers and hybrids, with a banner reading "Alvys Launches AI Agents". Its Foundations plan lists "AI load creation", and an Insights AI analytics add-on is on the comparison table.

9. Fathom: free AI notes for calls with shippers

Fathom records and summarizes video calls. Its free plan has "Unlimited recordings, instant call summaries, integrations with LLMs & more." Useful for rate reviews and onboarding calls with shippers.

  • Price: "Free forever." Premium shows $20 and $16 per user per month (the page does not label which is annual), so budget from $16.
  • Free trial: paid plans have a free trial and a 90-day guarantee.
  • Watch for: it covers video calls, not the phone calls with carriers that fill a broker's day, and it does not put notes into your TMS.

Free AI tools and trials for freight brokers

  • Call notes: Fathom's free forever plan.
  • Trials: Alvys 14 days on Foundations, Dooza Crew 7 days (card required).
  • Demos only: FreightScout, Vooma, Parade, Highway and Trucker Tools publish no free trial; ask for a pilot on your own loads.

How to choose an AI tool for your brokerage

  1. Start with the leak. Slow carrier replies, unvetted carriers, loads nobody tracks, or paperwork that sits unbilled. Pick the one that costs you the most margin.
  2. Do the math on the platform fee. A $1,500-a-month platform plus implementation needs a bigger floor than a $49-a-month tool. Ask every demo-only vendor for a price in writing before the call.
  3. Check your TMS first. Parade and FreightScout sit on top of a TMS. Dooza Crew does not integrate with one; it works in web tools you log in to.
  4. Keep vetting human. Use a verification tool, but you decide who gets a tender. The same goes for rates and contracts.
  5. Keep sign-off human. Pick tools that ask before they send an email or click Submit.
  6. Pilot on one lane or one customer for a couple of weeks before you route everything through it.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best AI tool for freight brokers?

For a small brokerage, our top pick is Dooza Crew (our product): AI employees for the office work around each load, such as drafting carrier replies, chasing paperwork and answering the phone, each with its own computer and browser, for $49 a month for the whole organization after a 7-day free trial. It asks before it sends anything. If you want a platform built only for brokers, look at FreightScout, Vooma or Parade, but expect a demo and, for FreightScout, a $1,500 monthly platform fee.

How many freight brokers use AI?

A Bloomberg Intelligence and Truckstop survey, as quoted in Truckstop's 2026 broker trends guide, found that 41% of respondents were deploying AI tools and 48% were not. The respondents were 187 freight brokers, forwarders and 3PL professionals in late 2025, and Truckstop sells to brokers, so treat it as one data point.

Can AI vet carriers and stop freight fraud?

Tools can help check identity, authority and insurance, but the decision stays with you. Highway sells carrier identity verification to brokers and says carrier data changes daily, so a one-time onboarding check can go stale; its pricing is demo-only. Dooza Crew is not a carrier-vetting service and no vetting tool is integrated with it: you could give an agent the job of collecting a carrier packet, and you approve every send.

Can AI quote freight and cover loads for a small brokerage?

Vooma, Parade and FreightScout all describe agents that handle quote emails, carrier calls or load building, but all three are demo-led, and FreightScout publishes $1,500 a month plus implementation. Rates, margins and who you tender to stay your call. Dooza Crew does not set rates; it can draft replies for you to approve.

Is there a cheap AI tool for freight brokers?

Fathom has a free forever plan for video-call notes. DAT One broker load board plans run $159, $319 and $449 a month. Dooza Crew is $49 a month for the whole organization after a 7-day free trial (card required). The broker-specific AI platforms in this list are priced by demo or start at $1,500 a month.

Is Dooza Crew a licensed freight broker or legal advisor?

No. It is not a broker of record or a legal advisor, and no TMS, load board or carrier-vetting tool is certified or integrated with it. It works in web-based tools you log in to with a browser, fills fillable PDF, Word and Excel files you upload, and asks you to Approve, Edit or Reject before it sends an email or clicks Send, Submit or Pay. Carrier vetting, rates and contracts stay with you.
