Checked October 26, 2026. Prices were read on each vendor's own pricing page. Several tools (Zenoti, Pabau, PatientNow, Podium) do not publish prices; we say so. Prices change: re-check before you buy. Dooza Crew is our product and our top pick for the spa's back office; we say why, and where the others fit better.

Best AI tools for med spas: the short answer

For calls and booking, use the AI receptionist inside your booking software if it has one (Mangomint's Mira, Boulevard's Beau, Zenoti's AI Receptionist). For the web-based busywork around the spa, our top pick is Dooza Crew: AI employees that research, draft and fill forms, $49 a month for the whole organization, and it asks before it sends anything. For a standalone phone option, Smith.ai has a free plan and Dialzara starts at $29 a month. Treatment decisions stay with your licensed provider.

The med spa market: small and mostly single-location

The American Med Spa Association's 2024 State of the Industry report recap says the industry is "growing from 8,899 locations in 2022 to 10,488 in 2023." It also reports that "81% of medical spas are single-location".

That matters for tool choice: a one-location spa has no IT team, so the best tools are the ones that work out of the box. We found no primary survey of AI adoption among med spas, so we do not quote one. The data is from 2023, so the market is likely larger now.

The tools, one by one

1. Dooza Crew (our product, top pick): AI employees for the spa's back office

Crew gives a spa AI agents for the web-based busywork that never gets done between clients. Each agent has its own computer and browser and its own job, works around the clock, and works with your team in one chat. Agents can pass work to each other. Before it sends an email or clicks Send, Submit or Pay, it asks you to Approve, Edit or Reject.

There is no Dooza page for med spas, so here are example jobs, written as things you could try. You could give one agent the job of researching local competitors' public price menus and drafting a comparison for you. You could give another the job of drafting replies to your Google reviews, which you approve before anything posts. You could give a third the job of filling a fillable PDF or Excel form you upload, such as a supplier or vendor application.

  • Forms: it fills fillable PDF, Word and Excel files you upload. Scanned PDFs without form fields cannot be filled. You type passwords and 2FA codes yourself.
  • Phones: Crew agents take phone calls too, included in the plan.
  • Price: free for 7 days (card required), then $49 a month for the whole organization (unlimited users and agents), AI usage included with a hard spending cap. At the cap it pauses and tells you.
  • Watch for: no med spa software (your booking system, EMR or payment tool) is certified or integrated with it, so it does not sync with your booking system; it works only in web tools you log in to. It is not a licensed medical provider, and treatment decisions stay with you. Crew does not claim HIPAA compliance, so keep patient health information out of it.

Try Dooza Crew free for 7 days.

2. Mangomint: booking software with the Mira AI receptionist

Mangomint says Mira is "the AI receptionist that turns calls and texts into bookings." It uses Mangomint's built-in phone system, so it can answer the phone or send a text at any hour.

  • Price: the pricing page shows Locations $120/mo each and Users $10/mo each. Phone is "$70/mo per line" and "Required to use Mira." Mira's own price was not shown separately.
  • Free trial: yes, a free trial account, with demo data. The page says "No contracts."
  • Watch for: you get Mira by moving your booking software to Mangomint, and the total cost of Mira is not on the pricing page, so ask before you commit.

3. Boulevard: booking software with the Beau AI receptionist

Boulevard's new release is "Beau, AI Receptionist", which it says answers every call, helps clients book and captures leads 24/7, built into the platform.

  • Price: the pricing page has Salon & Spa and Medspa views. The Salon & Spa view shows Essentials at $143/mo for 1 location, with up to 5 providers. We could not read the Medspa view, so check it on the page. Beau's price is not published.
  • Free trial: none stated; you get a demo.
  • Watch for: the number we could read may not be the Medspa price, and you need to be on Boulevard to use Beau.

4. Zenoti: a full spa platform with an AI workforce

Zenoti lists "AI Receptionist" among its AI agents: a voice agent that picks up every call and books instantly. It has a plan view for med spas.

  • Price: not published; the page says "Get a Quote".
  • Watch for: quote-only pricing, and a platform aimed at larger spa groups, which may be a lot for one location.

5. Pabau: clinic software with AI scribe and receptionist

Pabau's pricing page lists, under AI and automation, "Unlimited & free Pabau Scribe", an AI Receptionist for voice and chat, and AI finance, marketing and sales agents. Its Engage Plus add-on is for answering "every call and message with AI agents".

  • Price: not published; the page says "No commitment. Based on team size." and sends you to a demo.
  • Free trial: Engage Plus lists 3 months free; Marketing Plus and Care Plus list 30 days free.
  • Watch for: no dollar figures on the page, and the AI features are spread across plans and add-ons.

6. PatientNow: an aesthetics EMR with an AI scribe

PatientNow is built for aesthetic practices, and its plans include an AI Scribe. It also says you can "Manage lead and patient calls, texts, and AI chats in one view within PatientNow."

  • Price: not published; the page says "Pricing tailored to your practice" and offers a quote.
  • Watch for: quote-only pricing, and it is a full EMR, so it is a bigger decision than adding a phone tool.

7. Vagaro: booking software with the Vera AI assistant

Vagaro says "Vagaro's AI assistant, Vera, helps automate marketing, fill empty appointment slots, create descriptions, and communicate with clients."

  • Price: the page we read is for multi-location businesses and shows no plan price. It says each added bookable calendar license costs $10 (US), up to seven licenses.
  • Free trial: "30-day free trial".
  • Watch for: we did not read a one-location plan price, so confirm what Vera costs on yours.

8. Smith.ai: AI call answering with a free plan

Smith.ai offers 24/7 AI call answering, recordings and summaries, lead qualification and routing, and scheduling.

  • Price: Free is "$0" for 25 calls a month ($3.00 per call after that); Pro is $150 a month at $2.00 a call; Enterprise is $500 a month at $1.67 a call.
  • Free trial: the Free plan lets you "Try it and trust it first."
  • Watch for: it is a general tool; the integrations named are Calendly, Clio and Zapier, not med spa software.

9. Dialzara: AI receptionist billed by the minute

Dialzara's AI receptionist takes messages with custom questions and transfers calls to your team.

  • Price: Lite $29, Pro $99, Plus $199 and Elite $349 a month, with 60, 220, 500 and 1000 talk minutes included. The page says "7-day free trial" and "No contract. Cancel anytime."
  • Watch for: overage per minute ($0.48 on Lite), and it is not med spa specific.

10. Podium: an AI employee for texts and leads

Podium says "Meet Jerry, your all-in-one AI employee who sells, schedules, and communicates with customers day and night".

  • Price: not published; the page says to talk to the sales team.
  • Watch for: a general local-business tool, not med spa specific, with no public price.

Which tool for which job

Most spas do not need all ten. Match the tool to the hours you lose.

  • Missed calls and after-hours texts: the AI receptionist in your booking software first (Mira, Beau, Zenoti), then Smith.ai or Dialzara if your software has none.
  • Charting: Pabau Scribe and PatientNow's AI Scribe sit inside their own systems. Treatment records and decisions stay with the licensed provider.
  • Web-based admin that nobody owns: competitor research, review replies, supplier forms and follow-up drafts are the kind of job you could give a Crew agent, with you approving anything it sends.

One honest note on cost: a $0 plan with a per-call charge can cost more in a busy month than a flat plan, and a receptionist bundled with booking software means switching booking software. Add up a normal month before you commit.

Free AI tools and trials for med spas

  • Phones: Smith.ai's free plan (25 calls a month); Dialzara 7 days.
  • Booking software trials: Mangomint (free trial account), Vagaro (30 days), Pabau add-ons (30 days or 3 months).
  • Back office: Dooza Crew 7 days (card required).

How to choose an AI tool for your spa

  1. Start with your booking software. If it has an AI receptionist or scribe, test that before adding another vendor.
  2. Pick the job that eats the most hours. Calls, booking, messages, or the web-based admin around the spa.
  3. Keep sign-off human. Choose tools that ask before they send, and keep every treatment decision with the licensed provider.
  4. Keep patient health information out of tools that do not say it is allowed. Ask each vendor in writing what it covers before you put client records in.
  5. Try before you pay. Most tools above have a free plan or trial; test with a normal week, not a demo.
