Zapier Agents alternatives: the short answer

To stay in Zapier, try AI steps inside your Zaps. For cheaper visual automation, try Make or n8n. For an AI employee that works across your apps, try Lindy or Gumloop. If you run on Microsoft, use Copilot Studio. For a small business that wants a team of agents that each has its own computer and browser, try Dooza Crew.

Why people look for a Zapier Agents alternative

Zapier says "Zapier Agents are the easiest way to delegate real work to AI", with access to 9,000+ apps. It works well for many teams. People still look elsewhere because of:

The alternatives, one by one

1. AI by Zapier: stay in Zapier, skip the add-on

Zapier's AI page says you can add AI "in a workflow, an agent, or a customer chatbot." AI steps run inside a normal Zap and draw from the same task pool as the rest of your account.

  • Price: Free plan with 100 tasks a month; Professional from $19.99/mo; Team from $69/mo. AI steps, code and the SDK follow the same task-based pricing (Zapier pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: The same Reddit user said it is hard to tell how many tasks an AI step will use: "Is it 3? Is it maybe up to 75?"

2. Make: cheaper visual automation with AI agents

Make says "Make AI Agents helps businesses automate complex work while keeping full visibility into how decisions are made." The page says agents are "Available on all plans".

  • Price: Free plan with 1,000 credits a month; the Make Plan is $9/mo billed yearly for 5,000 credits ($1.80 per 1,000 credits); Enterprise is custom (Make pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: Make lists 3,500+ apps on the free plan, fewer than Zapier's 9,000+, and AI features "may use more" credits than plain actions.

3. n8n: best for technical teams that want to self-host

n8n calls itself a "Fair-code workflow automation platform with native AI capabilities". Its pricing page says "A standard, self-hosted version of n8n is available on GitHub."

  • Price: Starter 20 euros/mo (2,500 executions), Pro 50 euros/mo (10,000 executions), Business 667 euros/mo (40,000 executions, self-hosted), all billed yearly (n8n pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: It is more technical than Zapier, and it uses the Sustainable Use License, not a standard open-source license, so check the terms for commercial use. See n8n alternatives.

4. Lindy: an AI employee across your apps

Lindy says it "is the AI employee that plugs into your tools, learns how you work, and takes real work off your plate", with 1,500+ integrations.

  • Price: Free plan with $50 of credits for 7 days, no card; Team $49.99/mo for 5,000 credits, with computer use (Lindy pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: Lindy's FAQ says every active user in the workspace is billed, and big builds can use up to 2,500 credits each. See Lindy alternatives.

5. Gumloop: an agent builder anyone on the team can use

Gumloop calls itself "the multiplayer AI agent builder" and can "Give every Gumloop agent a secure cloud browser".

  • Price: Pro starts at $37/mo with 20k credits a month, unlimited agents and seats, and a 14-day free trial (Gumloop pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: The pricing page lists an 8% "Orchestration Fee" on Pro.

6. Relevance AI: an AI workforce for larger teams

Relevance AI pitches its plan "For companies looking to decouple growth from headcount via an AI Workforce." It lists 2,000+ integrations and calling and meeting agents.

7. Microsoft Copilot Studio: best if you run on Microsoft

Microsoft says "Copilot Studio is a platform for creating and managing custom agents, workflows, and apps with no code." Its computer use tool works with websites and desktop apps on a Windows computer you set up (Microsoft Learn).

  • Price: Packs of 25,000 Copilot Credits at $200 per pack a month, or pay as you go with an Azure subscription (checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: Each computer use step costs 5 Copilot Credits, or 15 with a premium model.

8. ChatGPT Work: for one-off tasks

ChatGPT Work is ChatGPT's agent mode. OpenAI's pricing page lists "Expanded access to ChatGPT Work on desktop, web, and mobile" on Plus, and a built-in browser (ChatGPT pricing).

  • Price: Included in Plus, with "Limits apply". The page showed us local currency, so check your own price (checked October 26, 2026).
  • Watch for: It is built for one person's tasks, not for always-on workflows across a team's apps like Zapier. See Dooza Crew vs ChatGPT Work.

9. Dooza Crew (our product): a team of agents for a small business

You tell Dooza, your master agent, the job in plain words from the web or your phone; it plans it, builds the helper agents it needs (a researcher, a writer, an outreach agent) and reports back. Each agent has its own computer and browser in a private, isolated workspace; you watch every step live in chat.

  • Price: Free for 7 days (card required), then $49/mo per organization (unlimited users and agents) with AI usage included and a hard spending cap. Cancel before day 8 and you pay nothing.
  • Watch for: It does not offer Zapier's 9,000+ ready-made app connections or simple trigger-and-action Zaps. For fixed, high-volume automations, Zapier, Make or n8n fit better.

Try Dooza Crew free for 7 days, or see workflow automation.

Free Zapier Agents alternatives

  • Stay on Zapier for free: Agents Free gives 400 activities a month, and the Zapier Free plan gives 100 tasks a month.
  • Free visual automation: Make's free plan (1,000 credits a month) or a self-hosted n8n.
  • Free trials: Lindy ($50 of credits for 7 days, no card) and Gumloop Pro (14 days).

How to test a Zapier Agents replacement in one afternoon

  1. Rebuild one agent you already run, for example lead research or support ticket triage, in two tools.
  2. Count the units. Run it 10 times and note the activities, credits or executions used. Multiply by a month of real volume.
  3. Feed it messy data. Mixed-case emails and missing fields are where agents fail quietly.
  4. Check the guardrails. Can you see every step, and does it ask before it sends or pays?

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the best alternative to Zapier Agents?

If you want to stay in Zapier, try AI steps inside your Zaps first. For cheaper visual automation with AI agents, Make (from $9 a month billed yearly for 5,000 credits) and n8n (self-hostable) are the usual picks. For an AI employee that works across 1,500+ apps, try Lindy. For a small business that wants a team of agents that each has its own computer and browser, Dooza Crew is $49 a month per organization (unlimited users and agents) with AI usage included and a hard spending cap.

How much does Zapier Agents cost?

Per Zapier's pricing page (checked October 26, 2026): Agents Free gives 400 activities a month. Agents Pro is $50 a month billed monthly, or $33.33 a month ($400 a year) billed yearly, for 1,500 activities a month. Agents Enterprise is priced by sales. Zapier counts actions, web browsing and knowledge lookups as activities.

Is there a free Zapier Agents alternative?

Yes. n8n can be self-hosted from GitHub, Make has a free plan with 1,000 credits a month, and Lindy gives $50 of credits for 7 days with no card. Zapier Agents itself has a free tier with 400 activities a month.

Is n8n better than Zapier Agents?

For technical teams, often yes: n8n can be self-hosted and its cloud Starter plan is 20 euros a month billed yearly for 2,500 workflow executions. Zapier connects to more apps (9,000+) and is easier for non-technical users. See our n8n alternatives post for more options.

Why do Zapier Agents hit limits so fast?

Zapier counts every action an agent takes, every web browsing step and every knowledge lookup as an activity. One user on r/zapier wrote that they "could easily hit them in a couple of days". Agents Pro gives 1,500 activities a month.

Which Zapier Agents alternative is best for a small business?
