Copilot Cowork alternatives: the short answer
For a flat seat price with a similar agent, try Claude Team. If you already pay for ChatGPT, use ChatGPT Work. If your company runs on Google, try Gemini Spark. To build your own Microsoft agents, use Copilot Studio. For automations across thousands of apps, try Zapier Agents or Lindy. For a hosted all-rounder, try Manus or Perplexity Computer. For a small business that wants a team of agents with a fixed monthly bill, try Dooza Crew.
Why people look for a Copilot Cowork alternative
- Usage-based billing: Microsoft says "More advanced AI experiences are billed based on usage. Today, these include Copilot Cowork, Code, Autopilot, and the Work IQ APIs." When metering began in July 2026, one r/CopilotPro poster said Cowork was the one Copilot feature they could sell to clients, "but no way if it's going to be $30+ 100% metered usage."
- Costs in practice: an admin on r/microsoft_365_copilot who ran the same tasks in both tools wrote "Our users are blowing through their limits the first day in copilot cowork." Another thread was titled "Copilot Cowork Spending Policy limits being exceeded".
- Mistakes: a new user wrote that it "seems to misunderstand or make errors frequently (like saying it updated a document when it didn't)", while adding it could be user error.
- Microsoft only: Cowork works across Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, OneDrive and SharePoint. If your work lives in Google or other web apps, it fits poorly.

The alternatives, one by one
1. Claude (Cowork): the closest match with a flat seat price
Claude Cowork is the agent Copilot Cowork is most often compared with. Anthropic says "Cowork runs your sessions remotely in the cloud" and reaches local files or your browser through the Claude Desktop app.
- Price: Pro is $20/mo ($17 billed yearly); Team Standard is $20 per seat a month billed yearly, $25 monthly, and lists Claude Cowork (Claude pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
- Watch for: Multi-step tasks use more of your usage than quick questions, and Cowork sessions cannot be shared with others. See Claude Cowork vs Copilot Cowork.
2. ChatGPT Work: best if you already pay for ChatGPT
OpenAI says "Work is an agent designed for longer, multi-step work and finished deliverables." It makes documents, spreadsheets, presentations and reports, and its cloud browser runs on a separate computer in the cloud.
- Price: Included in ChatGPT Plus at $20/mo (OpenAI help, checked October 26, 2026). Plus and Business Standard seats include limited usage, with optional credits after that.
- Watch for: OpenAI says Work usage "will vary by task", and some websites block its cloud browser. See ChatGPT Work alternatives.
3. Gemini Spark: best if you work in Google apps
Google calls Spark "your 24/7 personal AI agent". With your permission, "Spark can use your logged-in accounts and saved passwords" in Chrome, and it hands payments back to you.
4. Microsoft Copilot Studio: build your own agents and stay on Microsoft
Microsoft calls it "a platform for creating and managing custom agents, workflows, and apps with no code." Its computer use feature lets an agent work on a Windows computer.
- Price: A pack of 25,000 Copilot Credits is $200/mo; pay-as-you-go needs an Azure subscription (Copilot Studio pricing, checked October 26, 2026). Computer use costs 5 credits per step.
- Watch for: You build and maintain the agents yourself, and it still bills in Copilot Credits.
5. Manus: a hosted all-rounder
Manus does research, websites and slides end to end. Its cloud browser can visit sites, click buttons and fill forms, and you can log into your own accounts in it.
- Price: $20/mo for 4,000 credits, $40 for 8,000, $200 for 40,000, plus 300 refresh credits a day; save 17% yearly (Manus pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
- Watch for: It does not work inside your Outlook, Teams or SharePoint the way Cowork does, and credits per task are not published. See Manus alternatives.
6. Perplexity Computer: best for research
Perplexity calls Computer "Perplexity’s AI assistant that does multi-step work for you", across web, files and connectors.
- Price: Pro is $17/mo billed yearly with weekly Computer usage; Max is $167/mo billed yearly with 10,000 credits a month; 100 credits equals $1 (Perplexity Pro, checked October 26, 2026).
- Watch for: Credits are personal to each account and cannot be moved to another user. See Perplexity Computer alternatives.
7. Lindy: best for repeat workflows across your apps
Lindy says it is "the AI employee that plugs into your tools, learns how you work, and takes real work off your plate." It has 1,500+ integrations.
- Price: Team $49.99/mo with 5,000 credits and computer use; every active user is billed; the free plan gives $50 in credits for 7 days with no card (Lindy pricing, checked October 26, 2026).
- Watch for: Big builds can use 1,000 to 2,500 credits. See Lindy alternatives.
8. Zapier Agents: agents that act in 9,000+ apps
Zapier says "Zapier Agents are the easiest way to delegate real work to AI", with 9,000+ apps and work on the web.
9. Dooza Crew (our product): a team of agents for a small business
You tell Dooza, your master agent, the job in plain words from the web or your phone; it plans it, builds the helper agents it needs (a researcher, a writer, an outreach agent) and reports back. Each agent has its own computer and browser in a private, isolated workspace; you watch every step live in chat.
- Price: Free for 7 days (card required), then $49/mo per organization (unlimited users and agents) with AI usage included and a hard spending cap. Cancel before day 8 and you pay nothing.
- Watch for: It is not built into Outlook, Teams and SharePoint. If your files, mail and compliance rules all live in Microsoft 365, Copilot Cowork fits better.

Free Copilot Cowork alternatives
- Inside Microsoft 365: everyday Copilot chat in your apps is included with your license; only Cowork and other advanced features are metered.
- For a free agent across your apps: Zapier Agents' free plan (400 activities a month) or Lindy's 7-day free credits.
- For a free personal agent: Meta Muse (US) or Genspark's free credits. OpenClaw and Hermes Agent are free software you run yourself; see OpenClaw alternatives.
How to test a Copilot Cowork replacement in one afternoon
- Run the same 3 tasks in each tool: one meeting recap email to your team, one slide deck from a spreadsheet, and one "find X on these sites and put it in a sheet" job.
- Check where your files go. Note whether the tool reads your OneDrive or SharePoint, works on its own computer, or both.
- Price it per finished task, not per seat. Note the credits or usage each task took.
- Set a spending cap first. In Microsoft 365, set a spending policy before anyone starts; in other tools, look for a hard cap and approvals before the agent sends, books or pays.
