Grok Bot

xAI launched Grok Bot on August 11, 2026 as "AI teammates you can give real work to". The Bots sign into the tools you already use and work across apps, inboxes and websites, "including platforms with no clean API or MCP".

  • Many Bots at once. xAI describes a chief-of-staff Bot managing specialists for inbox, expenses, recruiting or operations, and Bots can coordinate in group chats.
  • Learn by watching. You can ask a Bot to follow along while you do a job; it saves your workflow as a routine and runs it on its own next time.
  • Memory. Bots "remember conversations, learn how you like things done".
  • Before you buy. It launched in beta on desktop and iOS, and its usage is "separate from your Grok and Cursor plans".

Claude Cowork

Cowork is the agent mode in Claude, and the pricing page now says "Claude Cowork is now just Claude." It is "available to paid Claude plans (Pro, Max, Team, Enterprise) only."

Pricing

Grok Bot (x.ai/pricing, October 22, 2026): listed from Premium at $30 a month. Super is $100 and Ultra $200 a month with more usage, and Teams starts at $30 per user a month. The $8 Plus plan does not list Grok Bot, and xAI shows usage multiples rather than a fixed number of tasks.

Claude Cowork (claude.com/pricing, October 22, 2026): not on the Free plan. Pro $20 a month billed monthly, or $17 a month billed annually. Max from $100 a month. Team, for 2 to 150 people: the premium seat, which includes Claude Code and Claude Cowork, is $125 a month billed monthly or $100 billed annually.

Which should you pick?

  • Pick Grok Bot if you want several agents running at once in the cloud, working in your inbox, CRM and other apps, learning your routines by watching you.
  • Pick Claude Cowork if you work in files and documents on a Mac or Windows computer, want scheduled tasks in the cloud, and want to choose how much Claude does without asking.

What if you run a small business?

Neither Grok Bot nor Cowork mentions phone calls to your customers on the pages we checked. A small business usually needs leads called back, appointments confirmed and customers answered on several channels, with staff able to see and approve the work.

That is what Dooza Crew does. A master agent creates a team of AI employees, each with its own computer, a real browser, a phone number and a card for purchases you approve. Your staff and AI employees work in one group chat, and nothing is sent or paid until a person you choose approves it. Free for 7 days, then $49 a month for your whole crew, with $20 of AI usage included.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between Grok Bot and Claude Cowork?

Grok Bot is xAI's team of always-on AI agents, in beta since August 11, 2026. The Bots share a computer of their own in the cloud, work inside your apps and come back only when something needs your approval. Claude Cowork is the agent mode in Anthropic's Claude for knowledge work. Its sessions continue in the cloud, but local files, browser use and computer use go through the Claude Desktop app on your Mac or Windows computer.

Which is cheaper, Grok Bot or Claude Cowork?

Claude Cowork starts lower: it comes with paid Claude plans from Pro at $20 a month billed monthly (claude.com/pricing, October 22, 2026). Grok Bot is listed from the Premium plan at $30 a month, with Super at $100 and Ultra at $200 (x.ai/pricing, October 22, 2026). xAI says Grok Bot usage is separate from your Grok and Cursor plans.

Can I run several agents at once?

Grok Bot is built for it: xAI describes a chief-of-staff Bot managing specialist Bots, and Bots can message each other and coordinate in group chats. Anthropic's Cowork pages we checked do not describe several agents coordinating; they do describe scheduled tasks that run in the cloud.

Do Grok Bot and Claude Cowork ask before acting?

Both do. xAI says Bots only come back when something needs your approval. Claude Cowork has Manual, Auto and Skip modes, and in the browser Claude still asks before irreversible or costly actions like making a purchase.

Can Grok Bot or Claude Cowork make phone calls?

Outbound calls or a phone number are not mentioned in xAI's Grok Bot launch post and pricing page, or on Anthropic's Cowork, Chrome and pricing pages (checked October 22, 2026). Dooza Crew sets up a business phone number so AI employees can call and text customers.

Which is better for a small business team?

Grok Bot has a Teams plan from $30 per user a month; Claude has Team plans for 2 to 150 seats, with Cowork in the premium seat. If you want AI employees with a business phone number and a card for purchases you approve, working in one chat with your staff, look at Dooza Crew: free for 7 days, then $49 a month with $20 of AI usage included.
